I was contacted by the Bakersfield Museum of Art to participate in an art exhibit for the summer of 2013. The show was quite challenging. I was the fifth artist in the project. Each artist is to write a page of a story 50-80 words and create a piece of art on a provided 20×20 wood panel to illustrate the narrative. You are given only pictures and narratives of the art that precedes your piece. Your narrative can introduce characters and change the story on the turn of a dime.
I chose to finish one chapter and leave it wide open for the next artist. I also introduced the main character as an unnamed woman. This was a great idea and so much fun. Oh! and the kicker you are given 96 hours to complete your project. I can’t wait to attend the opening on June 27th, just four days before my birthday. I hope to see you there!
